Actress Mila Kunis performed “Black Swan”in 2010 who is preparing a cartoon series “Stoner Cats”, which was launched earlier in the form of mass fund-raising activities sponsored by NFT.
It took just 35 minutes to sell out more than 10,000 NFT tokens. After “CryptoKitties”, it has become yet another “virtual cat” causing network congestion.
We all know that the ancestor of the NFT launched in 2017, CryptoKitties, also set off a whirlwind of virtual kitties in the currency circle, which once accounted for more than 16% of the Ethereum network’s transaction traffic.
“Stoner Cats” tells the story of five cats rescuing cat slaves in crisis. “Stoner Cats” has gathered a star-studded dubbing cast. Additionally to Mila Kunis, the event will also feature top stars such as Jane Fonda, Ashton Kutcher, Seth MacFarlane, and Chris Rock, and Vitalik Buterin will appear as a guest.
Fans who wish to watch the “Stoner Cats” episode must first purchase tokens to gain access to the “key” to unlock the episode and random NFTs for the characters. Stoner Cats tokens were priced at 0.35 Ether per token, which is about US$800. At one point, 10,420 tokens had been sold out. Gas prices have soared, so it is conceivable that they have increased.
DeFiprime, a decentralized financial analysis company, commented on Twitter: “As usual, cats have overwhelmed Ethereum.”
In addition, DeFiprime posted on-chain data which revealed soaring Ethereum Gas fees. Transaction speeds range from 200 Gwei to 709 Gwei. Both amounts are worth 9.50 US dollars and 33.67 US dollars, respectively.
Data from Dune Analytics indicates that during a short period of time, a large number of purchasing orders led to some Stoner Cats token transactions failing, resulting in a total loss of 344.4 Ethers (roughly $793,000.)
In the last 24 hours, CryptoSlam data reveal Stoner Cat turnover reached $3.65 million, Gas highest rate reached 500 Gwei, turnover ranked second only to Axie Infinity.
The official website of “Stoner Cats” says that another 3,000 NFT tokens will be sold after the first season begins.
Currently, investors are reselling these NFTs on OpenSea. This includes the “Lord Catsinton” character dubbed by Vitalik Buterin, whose price has risen by 9500% to 77 ethers, about $177,000.
